Pune, 10th April 2025 – In a heartwarming initiative that blends social responsibility, skill development, and community service, students from the B.Sc. Beauty and Wellness program at Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU) recently visited Mai Bal Bhavan, a non-profit organization for differently abled and orphaned children, located near Dehu.

During this visit, the students offered free haircut services to the children at the organization, creating a memorable and meaningful experience for both the children and the emerging professionals. The initiative allowed the students to apply their skills in a real-world setting and, at the same time, strengthened their sense of social responsibility and empathy.

On this occasion, Sayogita Gaikwad said, “Such initiatives help students understand the importance of community service and skill-based education. These experiences not only help students become better professionals but also compassionate citizens. Such activities are an excellent example of SSPU’s commitment to holistic education, where students are encouraged to contribute to society while developing their skills. It’s also a great reflection of the university’s philosophy of ‘Learning by Doing’, ensuring that students are not only industry-ready but also socially aware.”
